Ricky's musical roots began in North Alabama at the age of five the first time  he held a set of drum sticks.  He began playing for a living by  the age of twelve and soon learned that he could work twice as much with his guitar  in addition to playing drums.

His music has taken him around the country and

around the world.

For over five decades Ricky has played and toured with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Gregg Allman, Michael McDonald, Curtis Mayfield, Derek Trucks,

Delbert McClinton and Col Bruce Hampton.

Ricky has  been a session player in some of the most coveted studios in the music business and performed in some of the most well known venues in the world including opening for Phish  at Red Rocks.

Ricky has had numerous songs recorded in recent years including:

"Something" by The Band Perry

"Fill in the Blank" by Trent Tomlinson

"If I Was a Man" by Leah Justine and also by Lee Newton

"Always About a Woman" by Roger Adams

His heart and soul would somehow always be led back to Nashville... and it's in Nashville where his songwriting journey continues.
